Mission

The mission of The Georgia Public Health Training Center (GPHTC) is to assess the needs and build the capacity of the current and future generation of public health workers in governmental public health, health care organizations, and non-profit organizations for the purpose of advancing and improving the health of Georgia citizens.

Learning Opportunities

Identify existing and develop new learning opportunities based on workforce needs.

Evaluate

Evaluate the effectiveness of our efforts on learning objectives, core competencies, and selected public health outcomes.

Create and Strengthen

Create new and strengthen existing field placements for public health students, especially in medically underserved areas in Georgia.

GPHTC Provides Interns in High Need Areas

Three MPH students from the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia lived and worked as interns in the Southwest GA health district. These interns were recruited and funded through the Georgia Public Health Training Center.
